Welcome to Oakdene

Oakdene Vacation Home and Event Facility is a late 19^th century home located on almost one acre, just one block from the historic town square in Mason, Texas. The old German-English town of Mason is located deep in the heart of the Texas Hill Country at the intersection of Highways 87 and 29, just 30 minutes north of Fredricksburg and 25 minutes west of Llano. Oakdene and the town of Mason provide the perfect point of departure for meeting the people and exploring the places that define this unique part of Central Texas. Whether you are seeking a respite from the hectic pace of the city or embarking on an action packed outdoor adventure, we invite you to make Oakdene, "Your Home in the Hill Country".

Accommodations & Facilities

Oakdene is able to best accommodate stays of 3 or more days, and of groups that are familiar with each other, including groups of family, friends, social groups.  However, we can also accommodate individuals and couples seeking shorter, or more private accommodations.  Please inquire to see if we are able to fulfill your requirements. We are currently able to comfortably accommodate 12 people.

Sleeping Arrangements
Oakdene includes four bedrooms, which can be used in various arrangements. Depending upon the current bookings, some or all of the following will be available.

Facilities

• Full Kitchen - Includes oven, stove, refrigerator, and microwave.
• Laundry - Super capacity washer and dryer.
• Dining Room - Seats 8 very comfortably. 12 maximum.
• Bathrooms - The Downstairs bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower adjoins the "Auntie Kath " Room and main common area. The Upstairs bathroom includes a large shower enclosure with seating, and a spacious dressing area and is accessed from the upstairs common area.
• Wrap-Around Porch - The ground floor features a wide, covered porch that wraps around three-quarters of the house and allows great views of the garden.
• Verandah - Upstairs features a comfortable verandah off the common area that gives a tree house feel, with a birds eye view of the garden.
• The Grounds - Oakdene is situated on an almost 1 acre, tree-covered lot, and includes a large lawn area for entertaining or lawn sports (croquet, horseshoes and Bocce available). The grounds also feature a small water garden. Ample seating is provided throughout the property.

Rental Variations and Customization.
Oakdene lends itself to a number of configurations dependent upon the needs of our guests. Configurations range from very private to dorm-like. We primarily cater to large groups, individuals, and couples for extended stays, long weekends, or on a nightly basis.

Thank you for considering Oakdene as "Your Home in the Hill Country", and your point of departure for exploring the town of Mason and the surrounding Texas Hill Country. We look forward to your visit and feel you will be please by what we, the town, and the area have to offer.

We are new to the business of providing accommodations and therefore ask and appreciate your patience as we work to determine what arrangements of floor plan work best for our guests. We will be using our experiences combined with guest feedback to help insure an enjoyable, high-quality stay for our guests.   We welcome all suggestions and hope to make your stay at Oakdene, and your visit to Mason, a positive and memorable one.
